Podcast 171: Ice Cream, Jelly And Jam Tarts PDF Print E-mail

podcast-badgeThis week Eddie is joined by Antony Murray. Antony usually pops up when there's a comedy festival in the offing and this week is no exception - tickets only £8.

The guys record the podcast an hour after our brilliant victory over Hearts and they take great delight when discussing the performance. Straining to be heard over Eddie's increasingly decrepit computer droning away in the background the topics include the performance of Samaras, the potential within the side and the importance of being on the post at corners. Next the guys look into their crystal balls and picture a place beyond sight and sound - a place where Rangers no longer exist. What would it look like? Would Scottish football survive? And why would we all want to join golf clubs?

Finally they discuss the forthcoming game against ICT and wonder just how many goals we will put past them.

And as if that's not enough, The Human Torpedo returns along with Mogwai for another tale from the Celtic wiki -"Jimmy The Gent."

Great podcast as always guys. The only part I disagree with is the talk about us blooding more kids into the team, no point when our gaffer has already done so, the size of our squad and the fact our squad - who have won 17 back to back games in domestic competition - are so young already.

Our squad has so much strength in depth as I will demonstrate with my own personal 'Team 1' and 'Team 2' of who is available:

Team 1 - Forster; Matthews, Rogne, Mulgrew, Izaguirre; Brown, Wanyama, Ledley; Forrest, Samaras; Hooper

Team 2 - Zaluska; Lustig, Majstorovic, K.Wilson, Blackman; McCourt, Ki, Ibrahim, Commons; Stokes, Brozek

That's without bringing 3 International right backs in M.Wilson, Cha and Juarez. Young talent like McGeough, George, Fraser and the Twardzik twins. Even expensive Dutch, Danish and Sierra Leone international duds like Loovens, Rasmussen and Bangura involved also - I know Bangura is injured and calling him a dud is harsh.
We haven't missed Kayal at all and that is testament to the terrific job Neil Lennon and our scouts have done.

Listened to the podcast last night. Just to set the record straight regarding the league titles for Juventus and Inter. Juventus had two titles revoked: 2004-05 and 2005-06. The 2004-05 was awarded to nobody, while the 2005-06 was given to Inter instead. The rest of Inter's titles from that date until 2010 still stand.

I don't know whether something similar could happen to Rangers' SPL titles from 2002 onwards. I can't see the Scottish football authorities handing them to Celtic.

Sammy's goal at ICT keeper was going to his right with the flight of the ball, and at the last minute the ball bent left and you see the keeper trying to get his hands to the left.
