Hugh McDonald, seemingly a nice enough guy, but during the course of the discussion he mentioned that Celtic's turnover was around £25m! Really? And that's the Chief Sportswriter of the Herald.
When discussing Lawwell, there was lack of critical or in depth analysis on his recrod. There was however, enthusiasm on the part of English to chide the Celtic fans for having been previously critical of his management. A basic analysis would see woeful domestic & European results and a drop in company turnover by around 15% during his tenure. Thankfully a Tim in the audience highlighted his bonus payments during years of failure as being a previous reason for justified criticism.
There were a couple of other points, but I don't want to go on and on, as the general discussion was pretty good and it was for a good cause. So well done to the organisers and the panelists for raising money and attention to the Vanessa Riddle appeal.
