Podcast 139: River Plate, Celtic's Heritage & The Copa America PDF Print E-mail
Written by Eddie Pearson
Saturday, 25 June 2011 21:48

podcast-badgeCU's man in South America, Mark Cooper, joins Eddie for this edition of the podcast. Mark talks Eddie through some of the most recent issues in South American football and identifies a few players that Celtic should be taking a close look at. They then move onto discussing what Celtic can learn from the clubs in Argentina and the way these clubs make themselves a true community. Following this they turn the argument around and discuss what it is about Celtic that clubs in Argentina should try to emulate. Mark talks of the need for Celtic to reconnect with our charitable foundations, particularly given the poverty in the area surrounding the club. Finally they take a look ahead to the forthcoming Copa America and Mark gives us his tips for the competition.

i haven't listened back to it yet, but i think i said that i thought juarez would be going to santander...i meant to say zaragoza.

the story has frequently been in both the mexican and spanish press in the past few weeks. zaragoza is managed by javier aguirre who was mexico's manager at last year's world cup. apperently he wants jaurez, vela, dos santos and barrera at zaragoza with him. here is a link to one of the numerous reports from mexico;

this next link suggests that valladolid are also going to be interested;

wanyama to replace him?
