Punters Corner - Average White Band Edition PDF Print E-mail

bet_10_getBaby I'm back,

And right away I had come to you
To see if the love that we knew before
Had passed the test of time, ooh
Time, it changes almost everything
And sometimes lets us see the better side
Of the feelings we once shared

Yes after disappearing with the snow, like the enemy within (more on that comment another day) punters corner is back, so let’s go round again one more time.  I know that you think I will be different now, inside of me nothing has changed, so I'm asking you again, please, no one else that could have brought me back, no one could ever change, or the memory I kept within my heart.  Of course the teenagers who surrounded Neil McCallum & I on Thursday night will have no idea what I’m talking about, but if you were at the Green Brigade/Trust meeting on Thursday night, Neil McCallum & I were the two awkward looking guys who felt like we’d stumbled across a meeting of the Peoples Front of Judea, looked as conspicuous as two off duty policeman and shot off before we were outed as agents of the PLC.  Yes like a bad copy of a Glen Tim Tim (where’s he now?) rumour mill intro, it’s the return of punters corner – and it’s going to be different!

As many know, I’ve followed the lead of the great Eddie Pearson (where’s he now again?) and have a twitter account AND a Facebook page. So below are the odds and predictions from me, but either in the comments below or @harrybradycu on twitter or Harr Brady on Facebook leave your predictions for the Celtic score.  It’ll be the punters (you) v the punter (me).  We’ll see how it goes.

(7/4) St Mirren (9/4)             Aberdeen (6/4)        R6, 12:15

(4/1) Brechin (13/5)           St Johnstone (4/6)    R6, 15:00

Sunday, 13 March 2011

(Evens) Dundee Utd (23/10)         Motherwell (11/4)     R6, 13:15

(7/1)   Inverness CT (10/3)            Celtic (2/5)               R6, 15:30

If you’re wondering where Rangers are – They were knocked out of the cup, lost all discipline had umpty dumpty players booked and 3 sent oo.  Also their number 2 lost the plot.  Oh but remember – just blame Neil Lennon ;-)

So we are 2-1 down in Scottish Cup games to Inverness Caley, although it’s 1-1 at their stadium.  We have also only twice won there by more than 1 goal and that was in season 2004/05 when we won 2-0 and 3-1.

So here are my predictions.

St Mirren 0 – 0   Aberdeen (7/1)

Brechin 0 – 3   St Johnstone (12/1)

Sunday, 13 March 2011

Dundee Utd 2 – 1   Motherwell (7/1)

Inverness CT 1 - 2   Celtic (13/2)

I await comments, tweets and Facebook comments.  I will then put my score up gainst the favourite score and next week I’ll name who got the score right.
