podcast-badgeTalman from the TAL fanzine joins Eddie this week. They discuss the post season friendly match against St Pauli and the origins of the relationship between the two clubs. After this Talman talks about the fanzine and how it came into being. he explains the rationale behind TAL and the ethos behind it. The guys then finish up by having a look ahead at the rumoured signings and the impact Neil Lennon will make as our new manager.

And The Human Torpedo tells us about "Bobby Murdoch - The Complete Footballer." Another tale from the Celtic Wiki.

Maybe it's just me, but the link to send an email doesn't appear to be working (using Firefox and Thunderbird, latest stable releases on XP)

Sorry dude, it's the one just above my first post.

(I think it's obfuscated by javascript or something, or maybe it's just me)

Good podcast incidentally, bit heavy on the politics tho.

Ah right. It would help if I read your comment properly. I'll get that sorted.

As for the podcast I know what you mean about the politics but I don't think you can have an interview with the guys from TAL and it not be heavily political.

I'm of the opinion that the podcast should reflect the breadth and depth of the Celtic support and guys like Talman represent a significant aspect of our support and as such I think they have things to say which will be of interest to the average celtic fan.

I am arrogant enough to think that part of what makes the podcast interesting to the folk that listen is the fact that we are trying to reflect the broad church that is the support.

I'm willing to have almost anyone on the podcast if I think they will have something interesting to say.

I say almost because it's not a democracy and ultimately if I don't think it's going to interest me I'm not going to put it in. That might seem to be arrogant but I think it's important that, as with everything we do on this site, we write pieces and speak to people that will interest us first and foremost.

If we start getting into the realms of putting up stuff because we are trying to second guess what folk want to read or listen to in order to be populist then I think we'll quickly lose our way.

Not that I think that's what you are saying by any stretch of the imagination but I've had a couple of drinks and the keyboard seems to be working by itself...

All of my friends who I give copies of this to offline absolutely love this stuff about St Pauli and Talman and stuff, but it's generally a bit highbrow for myself. I tend to concern myself with more prosaic matters, such as "Why are there no macaroni pies at any of the food stalls, ever?"

(Also ; I hope it's OK to give my friends copies of this offline, I might well be breaching copyright laws in doing so, but I wouldn't bother suing me, I don't have very much money anyway)
