P/C - Celtic Do Dallas. Revenge is Sweet PDF Print E-mail

So it seems that we've finally got our man and Hugh (and others) have gone.  Despite this, these past few weeks we’ve seen a circling of the wagons by the establishment like never before with coverage of the Dallas affair by BBC Scotland quite embarrassing.  This organisation is paid for by the taxpayer and has an obligation to impartially report the news.  This week it has failed abysmally, culminating in an interview with the head of the Israeli referees where it sounded like a delegation of the Scottish referees union trying to persuade their colleagues to stay away.

In all of their coverage they have abysmally failed to put this refereeing dispute in the context of what led us here.  They have allowed the head of the SFA complain about “one club” causing problems through inference and innuendo but failed to point out to him that by doing it that way he is criticising Celtic only through “inference and innuendo.”  I am also thoroughly sick and fed up hearing that a Motherwell or Hearts fan has texted in to say their club also get bad decisions and they don’t complain!  Well bully for them!  If that’s true then what all these fans are saying is “we all know refs are sh!t but you should just accept it.”  Perhaps if other clubs took the stand we’re taking this problem would have been resolved years ago.

There is one overriding reason why we should be questioning things.  Since the beginning we have questioned referees and been told we’re just paranoid.  For once we grew a set and asked what was going on.  What was going on was lies and deceit.  The one time we ask we’re lied to.  You cannot help think – it isn’t just bad luck that the first time we’ve had a complaint investigated officials have been found to lie and contrived deceive Celtic.  How many times has this happened before?

On a light hearted note (and ironic given the people involved) and a play on the Arabic proverb “my enemies enemy is my friend,” last year members of our support wanted to organise demos against Israeli foreign policy when having visitors from that country.  This week they’re likely to get a standing ovation!

So what are the fixtures this week – up until I few hours ago we didn’t know, but it looks like these will be the games;

If ICT don’t lose on Saturday they will have gone a full 12 months without losing an away game.

I really hope we have a comfortable win with no dubious refereeing decisions.

Last week I was angry with the manager after the game for not making changes earlier.  By the time the substitutions had been made Dundee Utd were in control of the game.  I heard some people comment on Lenny’s inexperience as we left Celtic Park but I don’t buy that.  I’ve never managed a football team in my life but at 55 mins I realised we needed to make a change.  It wasn’t inexperience, it was just bad decisions.  Hopefully the team will be right this week and we’ll win comfortably.

One more thing – Hugh, revenge is a dish best served cold!

The E mail dallas sent has been reported as being "tasteless" on bbc, this morning. He has also resigned, and was not been sacked , this would leave him free to take up a job in uefa or fifa. I sense that there is an attempt here by the SFa and the media to bury this story. If the e mail had have been about Jews or perhaps the prophet Mohammed would it be classed as just "tasteless". Craven the linesman/whistle blower is the only person being punished here, for telling the truth.
