P/C - Back to Life, Back to The Celtic Game PDF Print E-mail

I’m sure we’re all sick to the back teeth of talking and reading about everything except football so I will stick to odds and betting this week.  The only comment I would make was that, following the well publicised anti-poppy demo’s it was good to hear so many peace loving anti-war songs sung at Tynecastle(!)

We had a disappointment midweek with the defeat at Tynecastle and the (honest mistake) missed penalty handball, but at least Rangers lost.  The biggest disappointment for me against both Rangers and Hearts is that we have been bossed out of the midfield at times.  Earlier in the season Lennon alternated between 4-4-2 and 4-3-2-1, even in the same game, illustrating a flexibility that has been missing in both of his losses.  I’m sure we’ll get the team right for Sunday and thump St Mirren!

Away wins seem to be the thing to bet on in the SPL this season with almost half of games finishing with victory for the visitors with 1-0 just outperforming 2-1.  So far there have been no score draws!

So Mo Edu and Papac had to go off in midweek for Rangers – FINALLY it looks like they’re small squad is having a problem playing twice a week.  The big problem for betting this week is that we know teams who beat Celtic and Rangers almost always lose the next game.

Another Big Fight Weekend

I love my boxing and am looking forward to the Hayemaker taking on A-Force.  It’s amazing what hype and marketing can do however as I have been swayed from thinking this is a waste of time easy fight for David Haye to thinking he’s got a real challenge on his hands.  What does Paddy Power think?

I think I’m going to go for Haye in the 6th at 12/1 but I could also see a Haye blitz in round 1 at 9/1.  If you did fancy an upset, I think it would be a tired Haye getting done by a lucky punch in the latter rounds – as he did with Michael Sprott when winning the European title.  Audley in the 12th – 66/1?

So after the cringe fest is over on Sunday our next minutes silence will be the New Year game L
